JOB GOALS:
- Support students from enrollment through graduation.
- Identify student-specific barriers to graduation and create interventions to support successfully graduating from Molalla High School college, career, and citizen ready.
- Provide support to students entering Molalla High School as 9th grade students and as transfer students.
- Provide support to ensure consistent attendance for all students.
- Develop a positive working relationship with students, staff, administration, parents and community.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to develop strong relationships with students and families.
- Holds a valid Oregon Secondary Teaching license and/or appropriate content area endorsement.
- Knowledge of child growth and development at each level of instruction.
- Possesses knowledge of effective attendance and academic support structures.
- Understands impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences on student development and learning.
- Possesses functional computer literacy, knowledge of word processing and an understanding of how computers can assist instruction.
- Maintains satisfactory attendance as defined in District policy and regulations.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identifies at-risk students and determine appropriate interventions to support each student.
- Provides attendance support to at-risk students and families. This includes conducting attendance meetings with students and families at school or by making a home visit.
- Provides academic support to at-risk students.
- Provides transition support to students transferring to Molalla High School. Point of contact for initial student onboarding once initial registration process is completed.
- Develops and oversee a summer transition program for incoming 9th grade students identified as at-risk through collaboration with middle school staff.
- Reenrolls students by focusing on outreach and retention efforts.
- Collaborates with community organizations to provide support for students and families.
- Collaborates with school counselors, teachers, and administration to identify and support at-risk students.
- Closely tracks students' progress for each academic term, to ensure class attendance and academic progress.
- Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the District and/or in self-selected professional growth activities.
- Prepares and maintains accurate and complete records as required by law and district policy.
- Maintains professional confidentiality concerning individual student data.
- Works constructively with colleagues and others for the purpose of improving the quality of a student's behavior and academic success.
- Maintains a high level of professional integrity by adhering to the Teacher Standards and Practices requirements for an Ethical Educator, (as written in the Staff Handbook) as well as Board Policy and State Law.
- Participates in various meetings (e.g. staff, parent conferences, in-service training, etc.) for the purpose of receiving and/or providing information or sharing expertise.
- Performs such other tasks as may be assigned by the Board or Administration.
