JOB GOAL:  

  1. Create a classroom environment which is safe and conducive to learning.
  2. Implement instructional strategies and program that meet the needs of a diverse student population.
  3. Assist students in the acquisition of skills and knowledge in computers and other technology necessary for functioning as successful adults.
  4. Develop a positive working relationship with students, staff, administration, parents and community.

 

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  1. Hold a valid Oregon Teaching license
  2. Knowledge of best instructional practices in teaching technology to middle school students.
  3. Knowledge of the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of early adolescents.
  4. Possess knowledge of effective behavior management methods with middle school age students.
  5. Understands the instructional and assessment requirements necessary to assist our students in reaching the content and performance standards as established by Oregon’s Educational Act For The 21st

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Proficiency in keyboarding and the use of computers and printers
  2. Knowledge of computer hardware and software applications compatible with the systems used in the computer lab
  3. Ability to troubleshoot hardware/software problems
  4. Knowledge of and ability to operate modern office methods, practices, procedures, and equipment, including computer hardware and software as required by specific assignment
  5. Ability to teach students how to use the Internet resources for researching information
  6. Instruct and enforce the District Internet Use Policy
  7. Ability to teach proper and effective keyboarding skills
  8. Possess knowledge of the key features of current software programs
  9. Ability to teach key features in the use and application of these current software programs
  1. Ensures that instructional activities and materials are clearly related to District, school, program, and course goals and objectives
  2. Provides instruction based on designated instructional materials or develops alternate materials in prescribed District format
  3. Establishes and maintains an orderly and supportive classroom environment in which students are actively participating and show respect for one another and for the teacher
  4. Conducts interesting and well-paced classes using a variety of instructional techniques, strategies, and materials appropriate to the lesson.
  5. Ability to teach the appreciation of and the proper care for all technology equipment
  6. Ability to teach computer and other technology skills to fellow teachers and other school staff members
  7. Responsible for reporting computer and technology maintenance requests to the District Technology Administrator
  8. Responsible for making recommendations regarding technology needs
