.75 FTE/6 hours per day/5 days per week

Anticipated Full Work Year: 179 days

 

Wage range to be determined. Posted wages based on 2020-21 Wage Schedule

 

 

Position serves Molalla Transition Center at Molalla River School District Office

 

 

JOB GOAL: To provide high school students in alternative/special education with opportunities for local, supervised, exploratory work experience and to provide trans­portation to and from the work site.

 

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to execute each requirement satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability needed for the position.

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent as required by OAR 581-37-030, Oregon Department of Education
  2. 21 years of age or older
  3. Ability to work harmoniously with others and to communicate effectively (both orally and

in writing) with students, parents, staff and local businesses

  1. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
  2. Ability to maintain confidentiality
  3. Possess a good and safe driving record as evidenced by the Oregon Department of Motor Vehicles and Oregon State Department of Education
  4. Possess a sincere desire to work with students, especially those students who are in need of special encouragement and support
  5. Ability to control self and others in stressful situations
  6. Ability to follow road maps and route sheets
  7. Ability to provide support to the businesses involved with the program and serve as the liaison in times of concern regarding a student at the work site
  8. Ability to approach and get commitments for work sites from the local businesses
  9. Ability to maintain student discipline in the classroom and while transporting students in accordance with the district's discipline procedures
  10. Perform physical requirements which may include:
  • Light to moderate degree of physical stamina and occasionallifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending
  • Ability to work in inclement weather for short periods of time
  • Ability to physically restrain a student as needed
  • Possible exposure to bodily fluids in assisting students with using rest rooms and in tending to injury or illness

   14. Such alternative to the above requirements as the School Board or the Administration may deem appropriate and        acceptable.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may also be assigned.

  1. Obey all traffic laws
  2. Observe all mandatory safety regulations for transporting students
  3. Develop route of travel in transporting students to and from work sites
  4. Assist the teachers in preparing the students for work experience through identifying and teaching prevocational skills
  5. Provide support for the student and employer for the duration of the work experience assignment
  6. Make periodic observations of the student's performance at the work site and give feedback to the student and employer
  7. Assist in the administration of vocational assessments and other testing programs
  8. Assist the teacher in matching the work site position with the skills of the students and the transition from school to the work site
  9. Interface with the work experience coordinator and counselors regarding the scheduling, career hours, and credit to be earned
  10. Maintain student files and records
  11. Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality when dealing with student and staff information
  12. Participate in in-service programs as assigned
  13. Perform such other tasks (which may require knowledge of other job descriptions) as may seem to be appropriate to the Board or Administration.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, BONDING, AND/OR TESTING REQUIRED:

  1. Must possess and maintain a valid First Aid card
  2. Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance
  3. Valid Oregon Driver's License
