Strength and Conditioning Coach

JOB GOALS:
- Supervise and direct the weight room and on campus conditioning program
- Help each participating student to achieve a high level of skill and knowledge in strength and conditioning.
- Instill in the participants an appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship.
- Develop a positive working relationship with students, staff, administration, parents and community.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Possess a valid First Aid card.
- Completion of an annual B1oodborne Pathogen Course.
- Possess a high level of competence, which may include prior participation in weight training and conditioning.
- Has experience teaching, working with, and/or coaching students of high school age.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Instruct all participants in the safe and efficient use of all weight training equipment and activities.
- Consult with Physical Education teachers and coaches concerning safe and effective weight training programs for all students.
- Keep accurate daily records of attendance of all participants.
- Make contact with all incoming 9th grade students as well as current high school students and encourage their participation.
- Responsible for inventory and maintenance of all weight room equipment.
- Is responsible for the supervision of participants whenever they are present, including the weight room, locker room and immediate areas to these facilities. Takes all reasonable precautions to provide the health and safety of the participant.
- Adheres to the school and district regulations and policies regarding the conduct of the strength and conditioning coach and the participants in this program.
- Maintains a record of all injuries and reports that information to the Director of the Summer School program.
