POSITION PURPOSE:
To provide building level technical assistance with computers and other technology hardware, software maintenance and other trouble shooting needs. Building Techs will be the first contact for their building and they will contact additional technology support if necessary.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Have good knowledge of Chromebooks and the machines issued to building staff (Macs and PCs).
- Participate in the oversight of the helpdesk ticketing system and address tickets assigned to your building in a timely and efficient manner.
- Have an excellent understanding of G Suite products (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Google Drive, Google Calendar, etc.)
- Support staff and families with video conferencing platforms (Zoom and Google Meets).
- Work with families to troubleshoot technology issues (especially regarding Chromebooks and hotspots) over the phone and via email.
- Help building staff navigate online learning platforms including, but not limited to, SchoolsPLP, Google Classroom, Seesaw, Edulastic, Wowzers, IXL, etc.
- Collaborate with district technology leadership to resolve issues that cannot be resolved at the building level.
- Manage the school's Chromebook deployment process, and keep an accurate inventory of district machines.
- Commit to attending a weekly tech lead check-in meeting, Tuesdays 8:00am - 9:00am.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- A current licensed employee of MRSD
- Working knowledge of computer hardware, software, and peripherals on the Macintosh and DOS/Windows platforms
- Completion of training or demonstration of competency in the areas of performance responsibilities
- Ability to assist others in the effective and efficient use of technology
- Ability to work independently to solve problems and schedule tasks in an environment of changing priorities and emergency situations
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and professional relationships, and work in harmony with supervisors, staff, students, and the general public
- Desire to learn and keep pace with changing technologies
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work is performed primarily indoors
- Frequent or prolonged standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing conversations will be required.
- Requires accurate perceiving of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, handling and working with materials and objects.
